Room for You · Sunriver, Oregon

Remember who you are when nobody needs anything from you.

An unhurried retreat for women ready to explore who they're becoming.

A few days among the pines and the horses where nothing is waiting for you to handle it. Room to notice what you want, try it on, and feel what it is like to be the one who is held.

You know the moment

It is 7:42 on a Tuesday morning.

You are answering a message with one thumb and signing a permission slip with the other. The lunch is half packed. Someone cannot find a shoe. Your child tugs your sleeve to show you something, and you hear yourself say just a second.

And then you hear it again, the way you would hear it from across a room. You realize you have been saying just a second for years. To your kids, your team, your partner, your friends. And, most of all, to yourself.

You are good at this life. You are very good at it. Somewhere along the way you stopped being asked what you want, and then you stopped asking. Not because the answer stopped mattering. There was simply never a quiet enough minute to hear it.

Room for You is not about becoming a better mother, a better leader or a better anything. It is about remembering there is a you underneath every role, and giving her some room.

How this is different

What if you came home with less to do?

Most retreats give you something to learn and a plan to take home, and the plan joins the list of things you are responsible for. Room for You works the other way around. For a few days you get to live differently, and notice what that feels like from the inside.

What would it feel like to wake up and have nobody need anything from you? To be asked what you want and have time to find the answer? To say a preference out loud and have it simply be received? To sit with other women and feel no pull to take care of any of them?

This is what the retreat makes room for. The work is experiential, grounded in Gestalt and somatic practice, and partnered with horses. Understanding comes too, usually after you have already felt something shift.

This is for you if

You are the one everyone leans on, at work and at home. You love the people in your life fiercely and still feel like you are missing from it. You are tired in a way a good night of sleep does not fix. You have a quiet sense that there is more of you waiting.

It may not be the right fit if

You are looking for a parenting program. You want a schedule packed from morning to night. You are hoping someone will tell you exactly what to do with your life.

How the days unfold

What happens when the day finally belongs to you?

There's a rhythm to our days, but plenty of room to follow your own. Time with the horses. Meaningful experiences. Conversation, quiet, and space to wander.

There's nothing to keep up with and no one to take care of.

For a few days, you get to experience what happens when you make room for yourself.

Arrive & Exhale

For once, there's nothing to manage.

You don't have to organize the day, make decisions for everyone, or anticipate what someone else might need.

Settle in. Take your time. Remember what it feels like when your attention belongs to you.

Explore & Experience

Discover what else is possible for you.

Through meaningful conversations, experiential Gestalt work, time with the horses, and space for reflection, you'll get curious about familiar patterns and explore different ways of being.

What happens when you say what you want? When you choose differently? When you allow yourself to receive instead of always giving?

You don't have to know the answers. You get to experience the possibilities.

Choose What Comes Next

Bring more of you home.

As the experience unfolds, you may begin to notice what matters to you now, what you want more of, and what you've been making room for out of habit.

You won't leave with another list of assignments.

You'll have the opportunity to carry home something more personal: a different experience of yourself and a clearer sense of what you want to make room for next.

Partnering with horses

Horses do not care who you are supposed to be.

They respond to what is true in you right now. If you are performing calm, they know. If you are holding back what you want, they feel it. When you shift, even a little, they show you immediately and kindly. All of it happens on the ground, and no experience with horses is needed.

Woven into the retreat as part of the inner work, never as an outing or an extra.

What women often notice

Every woman leaves with something different.

We cannot promise what will open for you. What we can offer is the room.

A decision

Some women leave with a decision they have been circling for years.

A question

Others leave with a question they finally let themselves ask.

A felt memory

Many leave with a felt memory of what it is like to choose for themselves.

A way back

And a few simple practices that help them find it again.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this only for moms?

It was created with moms in mind, because they so often come last on their own list. Any woman who recognizes herself in this page is welcome.

Do I need any experience with horses?

None at all. All of the work happens on the ground, and many women who come have never stood next to a horse. That often makes the experience richer.

Is this therapy?

It is coaching, grounded in somatic and Gestalt practice. It is deep, personal work, and it is not a replacement for therapy.

When are the dates, and what does it cost?

Dates and investment are being set now. People on the list hear first, before anything is shared publicly.
